Namiki Falcon with SF nib.. I swear i didnt steal anyone's pen... *cough* I've been wanting one of these for a while, and when I went to Goulet Pens and didnt see the ink that i wanted since it was LE and also sold out, checked out their bottom shelf and saw this... and immediately pounced. I've just inked it up with Caran d'Ache's Blue sky ink and its gorgeous.. Since i'm using it currently for work and havent had time to play with it -- not entirely sure how well it writes but it does write rather wetly.

mini Pilot Hi-Tec-C Review
After winning Gourmet Pens' Pelle journal giveaway recently, she kindly enclosed some additional gifts, 2 Pilot Hi-Tec-C's (in mauve and turquoise). I had received them while i was busy trying to get last minute details for the wedding ready and did not have time to play with the pens-- well i also sorta accidentally misplaced them in a purse pocket...
They did go on the cruise with me and I am glad to say they came back with me from the cruise. The 2 pens i received were both 0.3mm points and I love my uber fine tipped pens so this was a very appropriate sized tip for me to enjoy. After writing with them for a bit, I am happy to report that they rank among some of my favorite gel tipped pens. They are smooth writers, very vibrant colors are available and have almost no skipping. With such fine tipped pens usually with the rollerball in these pens have skipping issues once in a while, but they have pretty consistent lines when you write with them. I did have a bit of skipping with the mauve pen (though I couldn't always replicate it) i tried a bunch of different things, I guess the roller ball just got stuck. Other than that they were both very lovely to use-- great colors, very thin points which i ecstatically love :) to the point where for a goodbye gift for one of the Clinical Fellows that i've worked closely with, i purchased 2 purple Hi-tec-C's in 0.4mm to give to her.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Slim Knock Pen
So i read a review and knew that this pen was small.. how small? I believe its slightly below 5 inches in length from tip to tip. Its slightly longer than the kaweco sport and the tasche ohto needlepoint pens. The pen is very small, I had seen on a review that the pen was tiny but I never realized how teeny tiny this pen is. The pen is also uber skinny-- its not labeled as a slim knock pen for nuthin, honey!
The pen is made of plastic with a rubberized grip on the bottom -- i believe the pen's plastic and grip coordinate with the color ink you have. The Pilot Hi-Tec-C Slim knock pen is very comfortable in my hands, though my hands are definitely on the smaller end of things -- see the below picture. The pen would be dwarfed by male hands, i bet. The clip does sometimes interfere with how I hold the pen, so I've had to change how/where i've had to hold the pen sometimes to feel comfortable holding the pen.
I got this pen in the blue-black color because for some reason I love blue-black inks, plus this allows it to be work safe and for me to be able to use it on a regular basis. The gel ink writes nicely, like all other Pilot Hi-Tec-C pens that I've tried. There have been no issues with skipping or blotting of ink with this pen thus far, though I just got this pen this week from Jetpens so maybe in the next couple of weeks I'll get a blip or slip but i doubt it.
I really like this pen, its small enough to throw into a teeny tiny purse, or in a smaller pocket. The only pitfall i see is that for some people, this pen is may not going to work for them because the pen may not fit in their hands.
